Challenges for the EU Council Presidency of Belgium&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"the-content\"><p>The Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Egmont Royal Institute for International Relations and the Bertelsmann Stiftung, held a roundtable debate entitled \u2018Heterogeneity and Coherence in the European Union\u2019. Distinguished personalities participated and discussed key challenges of the Belgian EU Council Presidency in the second half of this year.<\/p>\n<p>  The debate included four sessions: 1) Europe and the Global Crisis: Taking stock of new economic and social cleavages across the Union, 2) Between EU 2020 Strategy and Eurozone Reform: What \u2018European Economic Governance\u2019 is all about, 3) The EU\u2019s Financial Perspective 2014+: How to better spend our money, 4) Global Economic Governance: How to enhance the EU\u2019s clout in the G-20.<\/p>\n<p>  ELIAMEP President of the Board of Directors, Professor Loukas Tsoukalis, was one of the challengers in the second session.
