The Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) announces the organization of the 2nd Youth Assembly on Climate Change with the participation of undergraduate and postgraduate university students, which will be held live, at the premises of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, on April 20 and 21, 2023. The Youth Assembly is organized as part of the project “Climate Resilient Regions Through Systemic Solutions and Innovations – ARSINOE”, funded by the European Commission (Horizon 2020).

The aim of the activity is to encourage the youth to actively participate and to familiarize themselves with issues related to climate change, in order to shape Green Deal for Athens, after the European Green Deal. Students will deliberate, discuss and formulate realistic proposals for tackling climate change and adapting to its effects.

The participation of students from all disciplines and scientific fields is encouraged, in order to showcase the various dimensions of climate change and to develop an interdisciplinary debate for the formulation of the policy proposals.

Prior to the Youth Assembly and for the preparation of their proposals, participants will be provided with all the necessary scientific information, as well as the rules of procedure and decision-making, in the form of detailed educational material (Study Guide).

On the last day of the event, participants will have the opportunity to present their proposals and the Green Deal for Athens to scientists and representatives of local authorities.
