Τhe Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) is inviting applications for one part-time Senior Research Fellow. The researcher will be the scientific coordinator of ELIAMEP’s “Μediterranean Programme”.

CONTRACT

Fixed term, starting in March 2022. The position is offered for one (1) year with the possibility of extension for one or more additional year(s).

Will depend on seniority and expertise.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior Fellow is expected to:

  • Work with the Director General to develop the priorities of the “Mediterranean Programme” as well as conduct policy oriented research.
  • Publish policy papers/ policy briefs and work on program preparation and planning on the Euro-Mediterranean relations and as well as on major issues of concern to the region such as security, climate change and energy transition, economic relations, migration flows.
  • Identify sources of funding and contribute to the process of securing funds.
  • Write articles for the press and other outlets.
  • Participate in and develop external networks, and attend as a speaker conferences, workshops roundtable discussions in Greece and abroad.
  • Participate as coordinator or researcher in research projects of the Mediterranean Program.
  • Peer review of research papers related to his / her scientific subject, to be published  by ELIAMEP.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the dissemination of the research findings, publications and policy texts and the work of the Mediterranean Program in general.
  • Participate in team meetings, publications and other ELIAMEP activities.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  1. PhD degree in International Relations or political / economic sciences, with an emphasis on the Euro-Mediterranean relations or the Middle East & North Africa region.
  2. High quality scholarly publications on topics related to the work of the Mediterranean Program (mainly in English).
  3. Track record in preparing policy reports and/or producing research papers.
  4. Have proven research experience especially with EU research programmes.
  5. Experience in organizing educational programs such as seminars, summer schools.
  6. Excellent written and oral communications skills in Greek and English.
