The economic crisis that has occurred the last years in Greece has brought dramatic social and economic consequences to the entire population. The unemployment percentages have risen significantly, as many jobs have been lost and thousands of businesses have ended their operations. Income has shrunk and investment has fallen. In the context of the current circumstances, this paper aims at studying the factors that encourage or worsen the entrepreneurial initiatives by young people and an in-depth understanding of how they are perceived and evaluated by the actors. The survey was conducted on a sample of a population aged up to 32 (32) years with a formal or non-formal start of business between 2012 and 2015 and was conducted with deep, open-ended interviews that were processed using the thematic analysis method.
