Janis Emmanouilidis is Stavros Costopoulos Research Fellow at ELIAMEP. He was born in 1968 in Nuernberg in Germany.

He is a holder of Diplom-Kaufmann from the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg in Germany and a Master of Arts in International Relations and Strategic Studies (MA) from the Lancaster University in Great Britain. Since 1999 he has been a Senior Research Fellow at the Bertelsmann Group for Policy Research, at the Center for Applied Policy Research (C•A•P), and at the University of Munich. He was responsible for the project “Greater Europe” run jointly with the Bertelsmann Foundation, Guetersloh. In the period 1995 – 1997 he was a Research Fellow at the Institut fuer Europaeische Politik (IEP) in Bonn. He was responsible for the research area covering the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP).
