Ivey is a Visiting Research Fellow at both ELIAMEP and the University of Athens Institute for Migration and Diaspora Studies. Her research focus is migration, particularly the legal structures which create issues faced by legal practitioners in day-to-day asylum work.
Ivey holds a Juris Doctor for the University of California, Berkeley School of Law where she focused on human rights law and earned a Certificate of Specialization in International Law. She also earned a B.A. in International Development from the University of Oklahoma. Finally, Ivey holds a Legal Fellowship with Equal Rights Beyond Borders in Chios, Greece. There, she provides legal aid to asylum seekers arriving at the EU hotspot Vial. Ivey’s forthcoming article entitled Finding a Middle Ground? International Humanitarian Aid Organizations, Information Sharing, and the Pursuit of International Justice will be published in Human Rights Quarterly in August 2022.
