Alexander Kentikelenis is associate professor of political economy and sociology at Bocconi University in Milan. Prior to this, he held research posts at Oxford, Cambridge and Harvard.

Alexander has published extensively on two research areas: decision-making in global governance, and the social consequences of economic policies. His work has appeared in leading journals, including the The Lancet, the American Sociological Review, the American Journal of Sociology, and Social Science & Medicine. This research has received attention by many media outlets, including the New York TimesLe MondeEl País, Reuters, and the BBC. In addition, it formed the basis of parliamentary questions in the UK and in the European Parliament.

Beyond his academic work, Alexander is the vice-president of Greece’s National Centre for Social Solidarity, the country’s leading social policy institution. He has also worked as a consultant to various international and public organizations, including the World Health Organization, the German Ministry of International Development, and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.
