The British Embassy in Athens, in collaboration with ELIAMEP, and the British Embassy in Ankara, in collaboration with the Chevening program, took the initiative to create a network of women, with representatives from academia, civil society, the media, and the diplomatic corps, to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

The first phase of the “Raising the Voice of Women in Foreign Affairs” program took place in Athens from November 9-11, 2024, at ELIAMEP and was completed with the second phase in Ankara on February 9-10, 2025. The Greek participants were Ms. Alexandra Fotaki, Ms. Georgina Soultanopoulou, Dr. Nandina Christopoulou, and Dr. Ioanna Pervou.

Issues of empowerment, participation, gender equality, and vulnerability, as well as proposals for creating communication channels, were extensively discussed in both phases of the program.
