Literary critic George Steiner passed away on February 3 at the age of 89, leaving behind important work on linguistics, literary theory, reading the great classics and the history of Western Civilization. Thanos Veremis chooses the book “Tolstoy or Dostoevsky”, published by Antipodes and translated by Costas Spatharakis in 2015, to reflect on his personal readings of the works of a great thinker.
