On the occasion of the Greek Prime Minister’ recent visit to Tirana, and the unfortunate statements of his Albanian counterpart shortly before their meeting, writing in TO VIMA on Sunday, Ioannis Armakolas analyses the oversimplified and derogatory – about the Albanian side – analyses in the Greek press, as well as the almost obsessive focus on the delimitation of the two countries’ EEZs, a process which is already underway.

“Beyond the issue of the EEZ, the time is right for initiatives that will forge a new and multifaceted relationship of trust with Albania. The two societies are already there”, he noted characteristically.
