“Germany is not alone in the EU to ask for Athens and Ankara to solve their problems via dialogue. The Greek government needs to adapt itself to new developments and start negotiations with Turkey in order to come to an agreement on the delimitation of the continental shelf peacefully, whereas the Turkish government has to refrain from activities that bring risks of a military accident,” said George Tzogopoulos in his interview to Politico. Tzogopoulos explained that Greek politicians used Germany as a scapegoat during the economic crisis and this is now resonating in foreign policy.
