ELIAMEP Researcher Dr Filippa Chatzistavrou commented on the upcoming European elections and the attitude of Greek citizens towards them, in an interview on the public broadcasting of Luxembourg.

According to Dr. Chatzistavrou: “The way in which the European Union handled the crisis, caused citizens to mistrust both the civilian personnel and the political system, and I fear that the European Parliament which will emerge from these elections, will mirror exactly that. The electoral behaviour of these disappointed citizens is difficult to predict, and that is a problem, because the less a voter is evaluated, the more likely it is to reach an extreme voting option”.
