In an interview for Athina 9,84 FM, Yiorgos Christidis commented on the low electoral turnout in the recent Bulgarian elections:
“The average Bulgarian does not seem to believe that substantial change can stem from their participating in the electoral process, and this was made quite clear in these elections. However, this raises another question: since many Bulgarians do believe that change is necessary, but nonetheless do not vote, how are these changes to be achieved?”
He went on to explain the consequences of the ongoing political crisis in Bulgaria, which he believes will continue, given that it will far from easy to form a new government. He also analysed the problems created by endemic corruption, regional inequalities, and the social marginalization of the Roma.
