“All the above do not wish to undermine the value of what has been agreed for Greece. These are important conclusions, not only because they are adopting the Greek and Cypriot narrative, but because they support three choices: exploratory talks, a solution to Cyprus, a rapprochement between the EU and Turkey. These choices intend to encapsulate what the Union (the majority of member states) wants of Turkey and to map out the EU’s boundaries. We should read the European Union correctly. Avoid reaching dismissive conclusions about its policy, but equally avoid illusions about its limitations,” writes Panayiotis Ioakimidis in his article for the Sunday Edition of Vima.
