Ioannis Armakolas, Assistant Professor at the Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies, University of Macedonia and Head of the South-East Europe Programme at ELIAMEP, was interviewed by Aris Tolios on the radio show “Η στάση των δύο” (Athina 9.84).

Armakolas spoke about the latest developments on the relations between Greece and North Macedonia on the occasion of the meeting of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Zoran Zaev as well as the relationship between Greece and Turkey and Turkey and the EU.

The relations (between Greece and North Macedonia) have clearly improved, we are entering a new era of closer relations between Athens and Skopje and the common goal of all is to strengthen the stability in the neighboring country, to strengthen the forces that are closer and more friendly towards Greece and all together strengthen the prospect of all Western Balkan countries joining the European Union. This is very important,” Armakolas said.

Armakolas also presented the upcoming event organized by ELIAMEP on the enlargement of the EU in Southeastern Europe and Turkey.
