Ιn the midst of the pandemic and surrounded by closed borders, we seem to have forgotten about refugee/migrant flows, writes Maria Gavouneli, ELIAMEP Senior Policy Advisor, in an article for the newspaper TA NEA. Attempting to weaponize desperate individuals in Evros has failed, creating an illusion of long-term safety. Gavouneli points out that the problem is still there and will come back, even stronger, once normalcy is restored. She summarizes the issue in three main points on which we should focus.
