The pandemic caused an impressive increase in the use of online technologies, even by countries or social groups that until now had difficulty accessing them, write Antonis Trifyllis and George Mitakidis in their article for the Sunday edition of the newspaper Vima. And this is happening, Trifyllis and Mitakidis explain, because the pandemic, as is the case with all big crises, is accelerating the digitization already underway and its economic, social, and political impact. The European Union is on high alert and is currently developing a legal framework that will set the rules of the game for the data economy and consequently the 4th Industrial Revolution.
