In his article for Ta Nea on the outcome of Sunday’s elections in Albania, Bledar Feta underlines that: “The outcome of these elections is crucial, since their successful completion and the acceptance of their results by all sides are pre-requisites both for improving the democratic environment in Albania, but also for the country’s continued progression towards EU membership. The successful conducting of the April 25 elections is a significant step towards improving Albania’s international image. However, elections alone–even if they are conducted in accordance with international standards—cannot serve as the salvation of Albanian democracy”.
