Speaking to the journalist Thanasis Georgakopoulos on the First Program of the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), Yorgos Christidis explained why the new “We Continue the Change” party did so well in the recent elections in Bulgaria. He also analyzed why a new coalition government is possible this time round in the country, but also the challenges ahead, especially with regard to the ongoing economic crisis and its consequences for Bulgarian society.
He then moved on to ongoing political developments in North Macedonia, explaining why Bulgaria will not easily agree to give Skopje the “green light” to begin its EU accession talks this December. Finally, he talked about the EU’s responsibilities and its possible role in tackling the multiple ongoing crises in the Western Balkans.
