Dimitris Sotiropoulos reviewed David Runciman’s book “Is this how democracy ends?”, published by Patakis Publishers. Runciman is Head of the Department of Politics and International Studies, Professor of Politics, and a fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. According to Sotiropoulos, Runciman argues that democracy is going through a midlife crisis: simultaneously showcasing fatigue, unstable behavior, bliss and fury. ELIAMEP’s Senior Research Fellow finds that Runciman in his attempt to surprise, if not provoke, sometimes misinterprets political science’s central tenets.
