Dimitris Katsikas wrote an article for the newspaper TA NEA on why the joint proposal by Chancellor Merkel and President Macron to create a fund of €500 billion is a promising step in the European Union’s effort to deal with the financial ramifications of the coronavirus crisis. Katsikas pointed out that it is not yet time for celebrations, since the announcement leaves many issues open and, as it is known in such negotiations, the devil is in the details.
