Christos Aliprantis
Research Fellow, European domestic security and policingChristos Aliprantis is a historian of modern Europe from a transnational and comparative perspective. He is currently working as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral research fellow at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Previously, he has been a Max Weber postdoctoral fellow at the European University Institute in Florence (2020-21).
Christos holds a BA in history from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2013); an MA in central European history from the University of Vienna (2015); and an MA in comparative history from the Central European University at Budapest (2016). He completed his PhD studies at the University of Cambridge (2020) with a dissertation on the Austrian and Prussian political police activity in Europe between 1830 and 1870.
His scholarly interests focus on the history of security; state formation; and especially policing as well as on the history of migration in central, east-central, and south-eastern Europe since 1815. He has published pertinent articles and book chapters in international journals and edited volumes.
