On February 6, 2020, ELIAMEP organized a workshop within the framework of the research project “Norms and Values in the European Migration and Refugee Crisis”. Its aim was to discuss and exchange views between civil society representatives, journalists covering immigration issues, academics and researchers around the role and the impact of two values highlighted by the project’s research as key in European immigration policy. Specifically, the discussion focused on solidarity and the sharing of responsibilities in shaping European and Greek migration policy. How are these values perceived by local communities and how are they applied in everyday migration and asylum management practices? These were some of the questions that participants were asked to discuss. The discussion was conducted in Greek under Chatham House rules.
