Bledar Feta, Researcher of ELIAMEP’s South-East Europe Programme and International Relations expert, attended the IV Euromed Young Researchers Forum in Barcelona, where over 50 policy makers and 20 experts from different research institutes from all over the Euro-Mediterranean area discussed the green and digital transition in the region.

In his presentation, Feta talked about the extremist and conspiratorial web putting under the microscope the security threats posed by the new opportunities that digital transformation is offering to radicals, extremists and conspirators in Albania and Greece. According to Feta “online extremist propaganda and conspiracy represent a serious threat to citizens’ security and to the public order. New technologies have given radical and extremist groups new opportunities. It seems that these groups are introducing digital innovations faster than respective state authorities have been able to respond, and as a result, have grown their digital advantage.”
