In recent years, news about the Greek banking system is increasingly positive. Supported by the economy’s recovery from the economic crisis of the previous decade and new policy instruments to deal with the crisis’ legacy, Greek banks’ bill of health has looked increasingly robust. Such progress notwithstanding the Greek banking system continues to face significant challenges, new and old.
