ELIAMEP’s South–East Europe Programme participates in the new EU research project MIGREC (Migration, Integration and Governance Research Center).

The project successfully kicked-off with a two-day workshop in Belgrade on 21-22 October 2019.

MIGREC aims to build internationally-leading scientific research capacity in Migration Studies at the Faculty of Political Science (FPN) at the University of Belgrade (UoB), ensuring that the UoB scholars can contribute effectively to the research, policy and practical challenges arising from multiple and intersecting changes confronting currently Serbia, but also the whole of the European Union. MIGREC will strengthen the interface around migration-related research at UoB, especially FPN, between academic excellence, policy impact and public engagement. Towards this goal, the FPN of UoB will be strongly linked to the following internationally-leading migration-related research institutions: 1) The University of Sheffield’s (USFD, UK); 2) The Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIEEP ELIAMEP, GR); and 3) The South East European Research Centre (SEERC, GR). Over the next three years, the consortium will receive funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Framework Programme.
