After a long period of difficulties, Iraq has achieved  significant progress in regard to openness and democratisation and is currently a considerable investment choice on a variety of domains. This development is of key interest to our country, as the relations between Iraq and Greece are of cardinal importance for the geopolitical stability in the East Mediterranean and the Middle East. This event aims to contribute to an understanding of the economic and cultural changes accomplished in Iraq and of the emerging challenges and opportunities, as well as to analyse the bilateral relations of the two countries.
