Third Think Tank Forum 9/2008The TGAE report served as a basis for discussions at the Third European Think Tank Forum, which was organized by Notre Europe, Institut Aspen France and Fondation pour l’Innovation politique (Fondapol) in Paris on September 19-20, 2008 with the partnership of the OECD. The conference entitled What European Policy Outlines for 2020? took place at the OECD and hosted around fifty participants.

Among the speakers at the Forum were Hugo Brady, Research Fellow at Center for European Reform, Vasco Cal, Bureau of European Policy Advisers, European Commission, Janis A. Emmanouilidis, Stavros Costopoulos Research Fellow at ELIAMEP, Nicole Gnesotto, Former Director of the Institute for Security Studies, European Union, Elisabeth Guigou, Member of the French Parliament, Paul Hofheinz, President of The Lisbon Council for Economic CompetitivenessJean-Pierre Jouyet, Secretary of State, responsible for European Affairs, French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, Former Minister of Finance – Italy and President of Notre Europe, Michel Pebereau, President, BNP Paribas, and Jean Pisani-Ferry, Director of the Bruegel institute.

Following the closed sessions a public conference was held on Saturday 20, 2008 at the Centre de Conférence Internationale Avenue Kléber. This was the only public event held in Paris within the framework of “Paroles d’Européens” organized by the French EU Presidency. Following the propositions made by the think tank forum, it gave the public the opportunity to have a debate on the different challenges that Europe will face in the future.
