The Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP) in cooperation with the General Directorate for Human Rights and Legal Affairs of the Council of Europe organized a Conference on “The European Court of Human Rights in the National, Legal and Political Order-An Inquiry into the Implementation of Court Judgments and the Rights of Marginalised Individuals and Minorities”.

The Conference took place in Strasbourg, on Thursday 18 June 2009, at the Council of Europe, building “AGORA”, room G01. The event is under the framework of the EU-funded research project Juristras (The Strasbourg Court, Democracy and Human Rights: The Implementation of Judgments and their Effect on State Policies for Minorities). It aims in gathering scientists dealing with human rights, minority issues and the implementation of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, legal and national representatives from the Council of Europe and EU officials. The Conference will focus on national experience from the following countries: Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Romania, Great Britain, France, Germany and Turkey.
