Member of the Board of Directors of ELIAMEP Professor George Pagoulatos was the keynote speaker of the panel debate ‘In the EU We (Mis) Trust: On the Road to the EU Elections’. The event was organised by the European Cultural Foundation, at De Balie, Amsterdam, on 10 April 2014. George Pagoulatos presented the five strategic options for Europe, under the New Pact for Europe project. His fellow panelists were Philippe Legrain, former economic advisor to European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and writer of the forthcoming book European Spring. Important members of the European Commission and candidates of the main Dutch parties represented in the European Parliament (CDA, D66, GroenLinks, PvdA, SP) also participated. Professor Pagoulatos explained which strategic options he supports and answered various questions, concerning the future of the European Union, the eurozone and the Greek crisis.
