EMILIE and POLITIS were selected as best-practice projects for involving intercultural dialogue at the community level.

Τhe Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission organised a conference and exhibition on Intercultural Dialogue, in Brussels on 22 and 23 November 2006 on the premises of the Committee of the Regions. This conference and exhibition aimed to showcase the results of programmes and initiatives on the theme of Intercultural Dialogue that have been supported at European level up to now. They will also serve as part of the Commission’s preparations for the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue in 2008.

All directorates of the European Commission had named a total of 200 EU-funded projects. An independent panel of evaluators chose 29 initiatives and research projects, and EMILIE (coordinated by ELIAMEP) and POLITIS were selected.
