δέκατο τεύχος The deterioration of security in the Middle East in the aftermath of the so-called “Arab Spring” has brought to light now more than ever the phenomenon of lack of security for various religions and sects in the Middle East. Religions, such as Christianity, face the prospect of extinction in terms of numbers from the region. In this context, the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe held a Conference on Freedom of religion and safety for the Christian communities in the Middle East and the Southern Mediterranean in Athens, on 7 May 2014.
